Me in my classroom
My name is Mrs. Jean Bordner and this is my 14th year teaching at Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, VA as their Art Teacher.

I teach 8 separate classes: Introduction to Art, Studio I, Studio II, Honors III, Honors IV, Honors IV Portfolio, Advanced Placement Art(Drawing or 2D Design) and Art Through the Ages (Art History).

I grew up in Connecticut and moved to the Washington D.C. area in 1998 to attend The Catholic University of America.  I graduated in 2002 and received my B.A. in Art/Secondary Education.

I  graduated in the spring of 2013 from George Mason University with a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction in Art Education.

Not only do I teach @ PVI but I use to  coach as well.  I was the Head Coach for the JV Softball team. I am also the Moderator for the Art Honor Society here at Paul VI.

I love to paint(of course!), going to the movies, spending time with my husband and daughter, friends and family, traveling (I've been to: Hawaii, Cayman Islands, Greece, Portugal, Mexico, St.Thomas, St. John's, Peru, Canada, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Dominican Republic and Turks and Caicos). I also love cooking and laughing, a lot!

One thing I always tell my students, "You don't have to be an artist to create art."

Sincerely,
Jean Bordner
